Getting started

What FlightOut is, how to install it, the menus, and your first flight.

FlightOut is a free, multiplayer combat flight simulator by Yembera. It is in alpha: playable and growing quickly, with new features in most releases.

What you get

  • One aircraft, built in depth: the Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker, with a physics flight model, a working cockpit, radar, a warning receiver, a gun and six kinds of missile.
  • One map, at real scale: the whole of Kashmir, about 800 by 690 km, with 25 real airfields.
  • Weather and time: any time of day, clouds from clear skies to overcast, fog and rain, wind and turbulence.
  • Alone or together: fly offline whenever you like, or online with up to 16 pilots a server.

How to control it

FlightOut is flown with the keyboard. The mouse looks around, zooms and clicks the cockpit's switches. Joysticks, gamepads and flight pedals are not supported yet. See Controls.
