Who we are

FlightOut and flightout.app are made by Yembera. Yembera is responsible for the processing described here.

This website

The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other companies when you open a page: the fonts, pictures and films come from flightout.app itself. Like any web server, the hosting provider receives your IP address and the page you asked for in order to send it to you, and may keep that in short-lived logs for security and to keep the site running.

The site checks which kind of computer you use (Windows, macOS or Linux) so it can offer the right file. That happens only in your browser and is never sent anywhere.

Downloads

The game's files are served by GitHub, where FlightOut's releases are published. When you download one, GitHub handles the request under its own privacy statement. The list of versions on this site is fetched from GitHub by our server, not by your browser.

The film from YouTube

The film on the home page loads only when you press play, and then from YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). From that moment YouTube's privacy policy applies to what you watch.

The game

The game keeps your settings and key bindings in a file on your own computer. It does not collect usage data, send crash reports or check in with us. It connects to the internet only when you choose to play multiplayer.

Multiplayer

When you join a server, it receives your IP address (to exchange data with your game), the callsign you typed and your jet's flight data while you fly. Other pilots on the server see your callsign and your jet. On the official server (play.flightout.app), joins and departures are written to the server's system log with the callsign, for running and protecting the server; nothing is used for anything else, sold or shared. Servers run by other players are their own responsibility.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and similar laws you can ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Because there are no accounts, the only thing that could be linked to you is a callsign in the official server's log. To ask, open an issue on the FlightOut repository on GitHub, or write to Yembera through flightout.app.

Changes

If this policy changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves.
