Licence
FlightOut is source-available: you can read its code and help improve it, and you can play the official releases for free. You can't copy it or reuse it in other projects.
In short
- You may download and play the official releases, host a server with them, read the source, and fork it on GitHub to prepare a bug report or a contribution.
- You may not copy or reuse any part of FlightOut (code, shaders, tools, data, models, textures, sounds or designs) in another project, distribute builds made from the source, make derivative works or mods, use it to train machine-learning models, or use the FlightOut or Yembera names and branding.
- Contributions are welcome. By sending one you grant Yembera the right to use it as part of FlightOut.
- Third-party parts (Godot, the Rajdhani typeface, the map data and some sounds) keep their own licences: see attribution and credits.

FlightOut Source-Available Licence
Version 1.0
Copyright (C) 2026 Yembera (Aaqid Masoodi). All rights reserved.
FlightOut ("the Software") is published so that people can read its source code, follow its development and
contribute to it. It is not open source. Except for what this licence expressly allows, no rights are granted.
1. WHAT YOU MAY DO
a. View and read the source code, documentation and assets in the official repository
(https://github.com/aaqidmasoodi/flightout).
b. Fork the repository on GitHub, and download, build and run the Software on your own computer, only to prepare
and test a contribution (an issue, a bug report or a pull request) to the official repository.
c. Download, install and play the official releases of FlightOut published by Yembera, including hosting a
server with an official release, under the end user licence that comes with them.
2. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO
Without prior written permission from Yembera, you may not:
a. copy, reproduce or reuse the Software, or any part of it (code, shaders, tools, data, models, textures,
sounds, designs or documentation), in any other project, product or service, whether commercial or not;
b. distribute, publish, sublicense, sell or make available the Software or any part of it, modified or not,
including builds made from this source, other than an unmodified fork on GitHub kept for contributing;
c. create or distribute derivative works, ports, mods or competing products based on the Software;
d. use the Software or any part of it to train, fine-tune or evaluate machine-learning models, or include it in
datasets;
e. remove or alter copyright, licence or attribution notices;
f. use the FlightOut or Yembera names, logos or branding.
3. CONTRIBUTIONS
By submitting a contribution (for example a pull request, patch, issue text or asset) you confirm that you have
the right to submit it, and you grant Yembera a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, royalty-free, non-exclusive
licence to use, modify, distribute and relicense it as part of FlightOut or otherwise. Your contribution then
becomes part of the Software under this licence.
4. THIRD-PARTY COMPONENTS
Parts of the Software come from third parties and remain under their own licences, which this licence does not
change: the Godot Engine (MIT), the Rajdhani typeface (SIL Open Font Licence 1.1), sound effects (see
assets/audio/CREDITS.md), Copernicus DEM GLO-30 elevation data (C) DLR e.V. and Airbus Defence and Space GmbH,
provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA, ESA WorldCover 2021 (CC BY 4.0), and Natural Earth
boundaries (public domain). See installer/THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt.
5. TERMINATION
Any use outside this licence ends your rights under it automatically.
6. NO WARRANTY
The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Yembera is not
liable for any damages arising from it.
For permission to use FlightOut in any other way, contact Yembera through https://flightout.app.
Also in the repository as LICENSE.
