FlightOut documentation
Everything you need to fly FlightOut, from installing the game to your first take-off, the controls, the settings, the world you fly over and the Su-27 itself.
FlightOut is a free combat flight simulator. You fly a Su-27 Flanker over the whole of Kashmir at real scale, on your own or online with up to 16 pilots. These pages explain the game from the player's seat: what to press, what you see and how to fly.
Where to start
- New to FlightOut? Read Install FlightOut, then Your first flight. It takes you from the runway to a landing in about ten minutes.
- Looking for a key? The keyboard reference lists every default key.
- Game running slowly? The graphics settings explain each option and what it costs.
- Learning the jet? Start with the Su-27 cockpit tour, then Flying the Su-27.
- Want to know the map? See the airfields and the map screen.
How the docs are organised
The docs come in two kinds:
- General pages apply to the whole game: installing, controls, settings, the world, and later multiplayer and combat basics.
- Aircraft pages cover one aircraft: its cockpit, instruments, systems, procedures, avionics and weapons. FlightOut has one aircraft today, the Su-27 Flanker.
Each docs page says which version of FlightOut it was last checked against.
Coming next
The docs are being written in stages. Next up are the Su-27's weapons and combat, and finally multiplayer and a full reference. See Not in the game yet for features that are still being built.
